STEP 1
Using the device via account connection
Prepare the connection
Turn on the lamp, your smartphone, and the WiFi router.
A stable WiFi connection is required. Connect where the signal is strong or near the WiFi router.
Use a compatible smartphone to scan the QR code to download the KAKAO HOME application.
Log in
Open the KAKAO HOME application and select “Start with KakaoTalk.” You can use your KakaoTalk account to log in without having to sign up.
STEP 2
Connecting to WiFi and assembling the device
* Please note that the lamp may be accidentally activated if you touch the touch-sensitive area during assembly.
Open the head cover by turning it counterclockwise.
Connect the supplied adaptor (AD/DC Adaptor).
Press the WiFi reset button for about 5 seconds. A white WiFi signal will blink when connected.
After checking the WiFi signal, close the head cover by turning it clockwise.
Place the adaptor-connected lamp head upward, as shown in the illustration, and lightly insert the lamp body until you hear a click.
Place the base of the lamp on a flat surface and attach the connected lamp head and body.
STEP 3
Connecting to the app
Touch [Connect to device] on KAKAO HOME.
Connect WiFi following the instructions.
When the app is connected to the device, the lamp will enter [Mode 1].
Using the device without account connection
* Please note that the lamp may be accidentally activated if you touch the touch-sensitive area during assembly.
Assembly
Open the head cover by turning it counterclockwise.
Connect the supplied adaptor (AD/DC), then close the head cover.
Place the adaptor-connected lamp head upward, as shown in the illustration, and lightly insert the lamp body until you hear a click.
Place the base of the lamp on a flat surface, then proceed to assemble the connected lamp head and body.
After finishing the assembly, connect the power plug to a wall socket.
When you touch the mode selection area after connecting the plug, the lamp will enter [Mode 1]
How to control
* When connected to the Kakao Friends SMART LAMP app, you can have a wide range of detailed control (color, brightness, mode, setting, and timer).
You can change the mode by touching the power for 2 seconds.
Modes 1, 2, and 3 have different colors.
Mode 4 is a cool daylight colored mode for reading.
Mode 5 is a natural light colored mode for resting.
Mode 6 is a flowlight mode with four alternating colors.Press the mode selection area for 2 seconds to turn off the lamp and save the latest mode.
Press the power or brightness control area for 2 seconds to turn on the lamp to the saved mode.
When you move your finger clockwise on the brightness control area, the light gets brighter.
When you move your finger counterclockwise on the brightness control area, the light gets dimmer.
Do not touch the brightness control and mode selection areas at the same time. If you do so, the mode may not change.
FAQ
The lamp doesn’t turn on.
Please check if the AD/DC adapter is correctly connected.
WiFi connection doesn’t work.
- Please check if the WiFi router works well and try again at a closer distance.
- Separate the head cover from the lamp body and press the W-Fi reset button again for about 5 seconds.The lamp is not detected on KAKAO HOME.
Place the lamp and the smartphone less than 1 meter apart from each other for Bluetooth connection.
I can’t update the firmware.
- Check the WiFi connection.
- Check the power connection of the device.Nothing happens when I touch the lamp.
Make sure your hands are dry.
Check the product’s range of operating temperatureThe device is dirty.
Wipe the device using a dry cloth to prevent moisture from getting into the device.
Caution
* The wireless system of the device is not appropriate for the use of human safety as it is susceptible to interference during operation.
Indoor use is recommended. Do not use the device outdoors.
Do not use the device in a moist/humid environment or the bathroom.
Do not look at the device directly when the LED light is on.
When you detect a burning smell or smoke, stop using the device immediately.
Do not wash the device. It may cause a malfunction. To clean the device, use a clean dry cloth and wipe it lightly.
Do not put something on the device.
Do not pull or push the device around. Use your hands to pick it up when moving the device.
Do not cause shock to the device.
The material of the device is sensitive to scratches. Use the device away from sharp or rough objects.
When you do not use the device, keep it in its box in a safe place.
Do not disassemble, remodel or repair the device at your discretion.
Use the provided standard adapter (24V/1A) only.
Be careful not to break the power cord by bending, binding or pulling it by force.
Do not pull on the cord or touch the power plug with wet hands.
If not functional, unplug the cord to prevent electric shock.
When unplugging the power cord, pull it out by the plug rather than the cord.
Do not use the device near where high electromagnetic waves are generated, such as near a microwave.
Do not use the device near hazardous objects. It may cause an electric shock.
Keep away from the reach of children and animals.
Guardians/supervisors must pay close attention to prevent children from playing with the device.
